Danieli introduced its next-generation technologies for sustainable steel production at the Arab Steel Summit

Speaking at the 18th Arab Steel Summit, Anna Danieli, Vice Chairwoman of Danieli Steel Production, highlighted the importance of digitalization, efficiency, and sustainability in the transformation of the steel industry.

Danieli introduced its next-generation technologies for sustainable steel production at the Arab Steel Summit

Anna Danieli, shared Danieli’s innovative solutions with the participants in his presentation titled “The Challenges, Opportunities, and Enabling Technologies.”

The presentation highlighted the company’s QSP-DUE, DIGIMELTER, and ENERGIRON technologies.

The QSP-DUE system offers customers flexibility to choose between coil-to-coil, semi-endless, and endless production modes in the thin slab casting and rolling process. This system enables dynamic width and thickness adjustment during production, provides an annual capacity exceeding 4 million tons on a single line, and delivers up to 90% CO₂ savings compared to conventional twin-line TSC plants.

Another key highlight of Lapasin’s presentation was the company’s smart melting technology, DIGIMELTER. Equipped with the hybrid Q-One power system and continuous charging technology, this unit achieves:

  • 60% less electrical energy consumption,

  • 15% lower electrode usage, and

  • 60% reduction in direct CO₂ emissions compared to traditional electric arc furnaces (EAF).

Lastly, Danieli introduced its ENERGIRON direct reduction technology, which enables low-carbon steel production through the use of hydrogen. With this system:

  • 82% CO₂ reduction can be achieved with 70% hydrogen utilization,

  • It reaches the industry’s lowest NOₓ emissions at 0.03 kgNOₓ/DRI, and

  • Delivers up to 96% metallization rate.

Anna Danieli, emphasized that ENERGIRON’s “Hydrogen-ready” design positions it as a key enabler in achieving decarbonization goals in steelmaking.
Within this framework, Danieli continues to lead the sustainable transformation of the steel industry through its flexible production infrastructure, digital solutions, and environmentally friendly technologies.
