The European Statistical Office (Eurostat) published seasonally adjusted construction production data for the European Union (EU) and the Eurozone for June.
Accordingly, construction production in the Eurozone decreased by 1 percent in June compared to May. Construction production decreased by 0.3 percent compared to June 2022.
Construction output in the EU decreased by 0.6 percent in June compared to the previous month, while it remained stable compared to the same period in 2022.
Among EU countries, the highest m-o-m increase in construction production in June was measured in Romania with 3.6 percent, in Sweden with 3 percent and in the Czech Republic with 2.5 percent. The largest decreases were recorded in Germany with 2.8 percent, France with 2.5 percent, Hungary and Slovakia with 1.4 percent.
On an annual basis, construction output increased by 24.9 percent in Slovenia, 15.3 percent in Romania and 9.5 percent in Spain, but decreased by 5.2 percent in Finland, 3.9 percent in Hungary and 3.3 percent in Austria.
