According to statistics from Brazilian Customs, the country exported approximately 405,500 tons of pig iron in November this year, up 120% month on month and up 33% year-on-year. The sharp monthly increase was mainly driven by strong demand from China and the US.
Among them, exports via the Port of Rio de Janeiro totaled roughly 184,700 tons, followed by the Port of Vitoria with about 178,700 tons.
In the first 11 months of this year, Brazil's pig iron exports amounted to approximately 1.7 million tons, down 18.7 percent year on year.
