No rent will be charged from foundation immovables in earthquake zone for 3 months

Within the scope of the state of emergency, the Presidential Decree on the measures taken regarding the immovables owned by the General Directorate of Foundations and mazbut foundations was published in the Official Gazette.According to the decree published with the signature of President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, the rent receivables of the immovables owned by the General Directorate of Foundations and mazbut foundations in the provinces where the state of emergency was declared were waived for February, March and April of this year.

The rent payments made for these months will be subject to refund or offsetting procedures, depending on whether the lease agreement has expired or continues.

If the tenants of the immovables in question request the termination of their contracts within one month from the date of entry into force of the decree, their contracts will be terminated and their evacuation will be provided within one month from the date of the request.

In this case, the tenant will not be asked for a receivable due to the early return of the leased property.
