In the first seven months of the year, total sales volume of finished steel products increasing 9% y-o-y, surpassing 18.32 million tons. The largest share came from construction steel, which increased 14% to more than 7.7 million tons. In July, construction steel consumption maintained its leading position in the sector, rising 11% y-o-y to over 1.07 million tons. This growth was driven by government support for public investments, infrastructure projects, and construction activities.
Hot-rolled coil (HRC) production in July increased 11% to around 640,000 tons, supported by the imposition of anti-dumping duties on imported steel. In contrast, cold-rolled coil (CRC) decrease 24% to about 181,000 tons, while galvanized steel declined 5% to around 444,000 tons. Meanwhile, steel pipe production surged 20% to over 259,000 tons, making it the fastest-growing product in July.
