The Italian Steel Trade Association, Assofermet, reported a significant decrease in demand and great uncertainty in the scrap market, with E3 Italian scrap prices down €10 to €360 on March 18 and trading at the same price on March 25.
It was noted that the situation was similar in western Europe, with HMS 1/2 (80:20) prices in the Netherlands starting to recover after a downward trend for some time, falling $3 to $349 on March 18 and continuing to trade at the same price on March 25.

Another country in Western Europe and neighboring the Netherlands, the Benelux HMS 1/2 (80:20) market is also reported to be stable, with scrap prices trading at €295 on March 25, down €8 from €295 on March 18. The situation in Germany has been rising in contrast to other countries, with the E40 market, which last experienced a price change at the end of February, rising by €10 to €378 on March 4 and continuing to trade at €378 at the start of this week, which started on March 25.
