According to the information compiled by SteelRadar from the Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK) data, Türkiye's flat steel exports decreased by 25.59% in 2023 compared to the previous year, falling from 4.7 mt to 3.5 mt.
While 556,026 t of exports were realized in December, this figure increased by 67.76% compared to the previous year.
In 2023, the highest exports were recorded in October, while the lowest exports were recorded in January. In 2022, the highest exports were seen in June, while the lowest exports occurred in December.
Imports increased annually but decreased monthly
Türkiye's flat steel imports increased by 8.58% in 2023 compared to the previous year, rising from 8.7 mt to 9.5 mt.
Flat steel imports, which were 645,554 t in December 2022, decreased by 13.87% to 556,026 t.
While the highest imports were recorded in May in 2023, the lowest imports were recorded in December. In 2022, the highest import was seen in July, while the lowest import was in November.
