JSC "Red October Corporation" is one of the largest suppliers of metal for the automotive, aviation, oil and gas and chemical industries, nuclear energy, chemical, petroleum, power and transport engineering, non-ferrous metallurgy and agriculture.

The metallurgical enterprise was founded by the French joint-stock Ural-Volga Metallurgical Society on the outskirts of Tsaritsyn - on November 25, 1898, the first open-hearth furnace was launched. This date is considered the official founding day of the Red October plant. By 1941, the company was the only steel plant in the south of the country producing steel for the defense industry. The enterprise received its current structure and final specialization in the post-war period. The main production facilities were launched in the 50-70s.
